Make OR Break Factor

We exceeded the specified load test of 1.25 times and carried out a load test of 1.5 times, to ensure the robustness of our solution.

THE CHALLENGE :

  • Alterations in water/cement ratios had led to a fall in grade of concrete, from M-35 to M-15, which was a critical load-bearing loss. Cracks in many surface areas were also observed.

THE ODDS :

  • During grouting, care was to be taken to not intersect the PT ducts, as post-tensioning was yet to be executed
  • Recasting was not an option, so repairs had to be more economical and as effective

OUR RESPONSE :

  • After initial analysis of the cause of failure, we designed a new methodology and modified materials to achieve desired concrete strength
  • We conducted intensive and extensive trials on site
  • Finally, we grouted and saturated the surface of all RCC members with monomers
